Recovery Coaches are
people living in recovery from substance use and who provide support to others
whom can benefit from their lived experiences. No experience necessary. The Recovery
Coach functions as a fully integrated member of the team to provide expertise
about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by
clients to have a satisfying life.
This position is Full Time, 40 hours/week. The
schedule is 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday. The pay for this position is

Recovery coaches collaborate to promote a team
culture that recognizes, understands and respects each client's point of view,
experiences, and preferences. The peer specialist is responsible for maximizing
client choice, self-determination and decision-making in the planning,
delivery, and evaluation of treatment, rehabilitation and support services. They
provide peer counseling and consultation to individual clients, families and
team staff; act as a liaison with other BRBH programs and community resources;
carry out rehabilitation and support functions; and assist in treatment,
substance abuse services, education, support, and consultation to families, and
crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of staff. When peer
specialist has appropriate credentials, he or she may perform professional
duties and clinical supervision.
A Recovery Coach for Alpha Jail and Community
Services will be expected to work as a team member with Alpha Clinicians, Case
Managers, and Discharge Planners who spend a good percentage of their time in
the local jails with individuals hoping to be released to the community to continue

experienced a substance disorder with at least 18 months of recovery; the Recovery Coach
assists the other team members to understand the client's perspective and
subjective experience. Required to
pursue certification for Certified Recovery Coach.
in working a 12-step recovery program. Recipient of substance related disorder
services, and has acquired and uses the skills for chronic disease management.
Experience in employment or other activities that have developed good interpersonal
and communication skills, crisis intervention and basic computer usage.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Background Checks: Candidates must be able to pass
background checks including those required by the local jails.
Good driving record: Candidates must have a good driving
record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years AND no
criminal violations in the last five years (including DUI) and are required to
undergo a fingerprint background check.
